About the Cabin:
The cabin is located on a 60 acre forested property, and is extremely private. The space was designed as a true escape, surrounded by trees.
The space is decorated with a modern and minimalist aesthetic, focusing on vintage and sustainable decor.
There is a hiking trail through the property to a wetland and gorgeous stream with a large granite rock perfect for picnicking.
Designed for a ‘slow’ stay, the cabin invites unplugging and cooking over the campfire or snuggling up in front of the wood stove.
The screened in porch makes it possible to enjoy Muskoka nights without the threat of mosquitos.
Guests will have access to the cabin and hiking trails. There is no one else on the property.
We live 20 minutes away in Huntsville and are available should you need anything.
The Area:
Baysville is located on Muskokas stunning lake Lake of Bays, with endless activities for all seasons. Small but mighty, Baysville is home to incredible restaurants, a cafe, brewery, public swimming, ice cream and local artisans. Just 20 minutes from Bracebridge, Huntsville, and Dwight, there is no shortage of places to discover, from skating, downhill and cross country skiing, swimming, boating, hiking and waterfalls.
You’ll need a car to get around in Muskoka
Important things To Note:
For stays between November - March you will need 4WD and snow tires to access the cabin. Our driveway is long and hilly and although it is ploughed, it can be tricky with our Muskoka winters
Our cabin is off grid, and runs on solar. Most of the things you are accustomed to are provided, however you won’t find hairdryers or microwaves here.
There is no direct lake access from our property and the cottages on Tooke Lake are all private property. Ashort 7 mindrive will get you to the public access on Lake of Bays if you want a dip.
For your own safety, we have a detailed handbook with information on fire prevention, wildlife, first aid etc so we ask that you please read it before your stay.
Bugs are a matter of fact here in Muskoka, and during the Spring/Summer can be pretty vicious in the forest. We’ve designed our cabin so it is comfortable all seasons, with a screened in porch for summer evenings. Please keep bugs in mind when booking your Spring/Summer stays.
